What is the resolution needed for a picture if you want to use it for a myspace layout/background?

I am trying to use a generator for a myspace background, and the resolution is wallpaper size, 1024x768. However, even that is not big enough. It still tiles it-not small tiles, but big ones. However, I just want a single image, not tiles! HELP!
